Leslie Spry, MD FACP FASN FNKF

Dr. Spry was born in Lexington, NE and graduated from Lomax country school, Oconto High School and the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. He attended the University of Nebraska School of Medicine in Omaha and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at University of Nebraska Hospitals. Dr. Spry then completed a research and clinical fellowship in Nephrology at Washington University in St. Louis. After becoming faculty at St. Louis VE Medical Center from 1982-1987, he then became certified in Critical Care Medicine while on faculty at St. Louis University.

Dr. Spry practiced with Wedgewood Medical Center in 1987 and then started Lincoln Nephrology and Hypertension in 1996. He has been the Medical Director of the Dialysis Center of Lincoln since 1987. The group then joined the Dialysis Center of Lincoln to start Home Dialysis of Lincoln in 2010. There are currently 8 nephrologists and 2 nurse practitioners at LNH. Dr. Spry is also the Principle Investigator for Nebraska Nephrology Research.

Dr. Spry has been involved in patient education with the National Kidney Foundation since 1985 and currently has his own blog with NKF and writes informational blogs for the Huffington Post with the help of the National Kidney Foundation Media Relations. Dr. Spry was the Chief of Staff at St. Elizabeth’s Regional Medical Center and was chair to the Nebraska Medical Association’s Commission on Legislation and Governmental Affairs for 14 years. He also served as past president of the Lancaster County Medical Society, Nebraska Medical Association and ESRD Network #12.

Currently, Dr. Spry is the Medical Director for Bryan Health Connect and NxStage Kidney care. He also is a member of the Public Policy Committee for the National Kidney Foundation and the Renal Physicians Association. Dr. Spry enjoys racquetball, is politically active and is a Cardinal Baseball fan. He intends to run for the Nebraska Unicameral in 2016.

Dr. Spry is married to Denise, who is a realtor for Woods Brothers Realty and has two children, Eric and Nicole.
