Mary Churchill, APRN

Born and raised in Lincoln, NE, Mary completed her initial nurse’s training at the Nebraska Methodist School of Nursing, and graduated in 1977. She spent the first eight years of her nursing career working as a registered nurse in critical care while living in California and Texas.

Returning to Nebraska in 1985, nephrology became Mary’s chosen specialty. After receiving dialysis training at the Mayo Clinic, she worked as a hospital dialysis nurse at Bryan Memorial Hospital. She joined the Dialysis Center of Lincoln, first working as a dialysis nurse, then dialysis staff educator before becoming the nurse manager. She has been a member of the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association since 1998, and received her certification as a Nephrology Nurse in 1991.

Mary joined Dr. Leslie Spry’s nephrology practice in 1992, while returning to school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center to obtain her Bachelor and Master degrees in Nursing. In 1998, she received her certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, (APRN), and has worked as a Nurse Practitioner with Lincoln Nephrology and Hypertension since.

Mary has two grown daughters and the best grandson anyone could have! Spending time with her family is a top priority. Her other interests include needle work, traveling (especially to the mountains!) and being in the great outdoors, specifically hiking and gardening.
